Usually I don't make New Year's Resolutions...I might say something like "oh, I'll clean more" or something vague like that, but I never really follow through. I guess life just always gets in the way of trying to do something! Last year I was still very sleep deprived at this time so I didn't have any plans for anything!
This year, I actually made 2 resolutions...and...I'm still going on both of them! I know it's only been 15 days.
One resolution is to read the whole Bible. With as much as I like to read, you would think that I would have done this by now, but nope. I discovered that in the back of my Bible is a list of certain passages to read on certain days. It does skip a few passages (such as all the geneology), but it highlights most of them. Only takes me 10-15 minutes a day to read it and that's about all I can manage right now!
Another resolution that has been really fun has been
Project Life. Last year at this time, I saw a really cool album idea called Project 365. Every day, you take a picture, journal about it, and put it in a album. At the end of the year, you have a record of the entire year! I thought it was so neat, but unfortunately the kit sold out. I kept the idea in the back of my mind and planned to do it on my own (without the kit) for 2010. I was really happy when I discovered Project Life! It's almost the same thing, only it can be varied a little bit. It's designed so that you can take a picture a day or a picture every week or month or whatever. I'm doing a picture a day and it's been really fun so far! It can be a little challenging to get a new picture on some days, but I figure I can always take a picture of something mundane, like what I made for supper or highlight a room in our house. After all, when my grandkids look at this 50 years from now, I'm sure they'll want to see what every day life was like back in 2010!
So, if you see me, ask my how my resolutions are doing so that I will be more motivated to keep it up!
