Corn-fed Boy!

Lane got his first taste of sweet corn tonight! He finished eating before Curtis and I were done, so I handed him an ear of corn to keep him occupied. He kept chewing on the end, like a banana, but thought that it was yummy! Curtis held it for him so he could take some bites. He caught on pretty fast! Wait until he tastes it with butter and salt...yum....

Putting Up Corn

The sweet corn is finally ready! I wanted to freeze alot this year since corn is one of Lane's favorite veggies. I ended up with 46 quarts! Thanks, Mom and Grandma for helping! It went super fast with all three of us working.

Lane even had fun showing off the fat ears of corn!

Henry Doorly Zoo

We made a last minute trip to Omaha this past weekend! Zack, one of our friends, wanted to check out an old pickup a guy was selling in Omaha. In case he bought it, he wanted to have a trailer, and asked if Curtis would be willing to drive. Of course! Heather (Zack's wife) and I decided to tag along. Since Zack had never seen the zoo, we made a day of it! Saturday was beautiful and the two boys did great! Lane only cried a little in the Kingdoms of the Night exhibit because he was tired. I didn't hear Brody (6 months old) cry until we got in the pickup to go home!

Lane enjoyed the aquarium...so many fishies!

Brody slept on and off the whole day and was so smiley when he wasn't sleeping!

The penguins was one of the highlights. They're so fun to watch! There was a cutout in the wall that bubbled out into the water. While Lane was standing there, a penguin swam right to him!

Zack thinks that rhinoceroses say "moo". Lane thinks they "snort and snuff".

"Look, Daddy! A monkey!"


We also stopped at Target and ate at Texas Roadhouse. A very fun day! Oh, and Zack didn't buy the pickup, so we took the trailer for nothing. Oh well, it's always fun to pull a trailer around Omaha :)
